The Beautiful and Sad St Petersburg

sad

The French famous writers and philosopher Voltaire says that St. Petersburg has the pick of the basket of European construction.

Some philosopher says that if staying for two days in St. Petersburg, you will think that you have known many things, if live there for two weeks, you will think that you know a little, if live for two years, you will discover you know nothing.

This city is like an old Keller, still maintaining the style that is inconsistent with the modern society. Head with ceremonial hat, wearing long unlined close-fitting gowns, St. Petersburg people stroll easily on the ancient avenue whose whole body attire demonstrate classics, elegance, simultaneously the fashion of old time. The buildings in the city are 200-300 years old that are of Baroque style or Rococo style that make the city fastidious about the symmetry and out of symmetry, also pursue the grand imposing manner and pay great attention to the sculpture details. These details found everywhere has become one special language, relating the romantic and elegant past of this city. In the city center you do not see a modern architecture depending on what some people say that St. Petersburg is number one among the classical cities all over the world. St. Petersburg people like classicality and refuse fashion or they ultimately look down upon fashion. People can read from their unswerving expression in their eyes that they are the true fashion.

On ancient and lively avenue, you will not see the billboards everywhere and hear the huckstering in the mall entrance. The decoration of the stores doors is exquisite and low-pitched just like the expression on St. Petersburg people’s faces, no exaggeration, no impudicity, no clamor, but the temperament that continues from the classical Russian time still firmly sticks on each thin long face. In their eyes, the arts which remained from the old time including construction, sculpture, literature, fine arts and so on, are the things of what they are proud. They respect their cultural heroes, like Pushkin, Tolstoy, Boolean Jiakefu, Mei Lieri Koffsky and so forth. they possibly transplant the solemn and cool expression on great people’s faces to their own faces. Gradually, people can distinguish them from other people by that.
