Suramadu bridge

suramadu1Surabaya-Madura Bridge (Suramadu) is a bridge that connects the island of Java and Madura Island, with a length of 5438 m and is the longest bridge in Indonesia. The bridge is included in the top 10 longest bridges in the world. Meanwhile, the longest bridge in Southeast Asia is the Penang bridge in Malaysia.

Suramadu bridge consists of three parts, namely the way layang (causeway), bridges (bridge approach), and the main bridge (main bridge). This bridge provides a 6-lane, the left side, 2 lanes for cars and 1 lane for motorcycles and the right side, 2 lanes for cars, 1 lane for motorcycles.

Bridge construction is intended to promote the economy and tourism in Madura. Every person who came to the city of Surabaya, from anywhere, would have bothered to look at and across the Bridge Suromadu. Well you can also visit the city of Bangkalan, Kamal, Pamekasan, and Sumenep. With this bridge, the surrounding area development Suramadu commercially profitable and should be managed optimally, such as the development of industrial areas around the foot of the bridge.
