London - Romantic Summertime Dates
There are few places in the UK that offer so many options for a first date than in London, especially during summer. Whether your preference is for indoor or outdoor dates, or even a combination of both, then there are literally thousands of options in the nation’s capital.
The London Eye is an obvious starter when it comes to wooing someone. The UK’s most popular attraction, the former Millennium Wheel offers a 30 minute excursion into the skies above the nations’ capital. You can certainly sweep a potential partner ‘off their feet’ here by taking a champagne flight in cupid’s capsule, where as well as enjoying the fantastic views of London, you also get to quaff a glass of Laurent-Perrier! Or if you wish to forgo the bubbly but want to walk straight to the front of the queue and impress your date then invest in a fast-track ticket, which offers priority boarding.
During summer 2009 the London Eye will be presenting internationally themed events from six different countries, starting on 24 July and ending in the week commencing 1 September. Take along a date and the pair of you could enjoy watching Zulu-style dancers, Parisian-styled mime artists and even Bollywood dancers before you embark on your flight!
For those days when the weather is inclement Madame Tussauds is a fun place to take a suitor. Where else can you get to kiss Kylie Minogue, Tom Jones and Gordon Brown all in one day? Even if doing so leaves you with a waxy taste in your mouth!
Of course, you don’t have to travel to the heart of the city for romantic dating London Marvellous Richmond Park offers a great place to take a stroll and get to know your date better, especially when the sun is shining and the skies are blue. Charles I decided to enclose this rural area as an exclusive royal hunting park in 1637 and the ancestors of the red deer that the king pursued still roam free today amongst the beautiful parkland trees.
There are many other open spaces closer to central London than Richmond, such as Hyde Park or Regents Park that offer the option to have a picnic in the heart of the city. Or, just take a stroll through the park and then continue into the West End where there is a plethora of theatres, restaurants and bars which all offer exciting options to continue your date.
Romance is alive and well. Choose your London first date option wisely and it could be the start of a beautiful and lasting relationship, or at least a great day out in the capital!
